Henix Obuchunju is a multiple-award-winning storyteller passionate about using media to bring about positive social change. He has told stories about women and children for over six years and has built a reputation as a reliable and dedicated communications expert.
Throughout his career, Henix has focused on challenging societal norms and stereotypes that disadvantage women, girls, and children in Kenya. These norms include issues like gender-based violence, limited access to education, and child marriage.
Henix’s career began at a community radio station in Kibra slum, where he gained a deep understanding of the real challenges faced by women and children in vulnerable communities. He has since worked in various organizations where he developed, coordinated, and supported internal and external communication efforts to effectively convey messages.
He is skilled at creating content that resonates with audiences across different media channels, including social media. With his expertise, Henix has excelled in editing and proofreading content, managing social media platforms, moderating sessions, and building relationships with journalists and media houses. He holds a master’s in digital journalism from the Aga Khan University Graduate School of Media and Communication.
